You got it from your father.
It was all he had to give.
So it's yours to use and cherish
For as long as you may live.
~
If you lose the tools he gave you
They can always be replaced.
But a black mark on your name, Son,
Can never be erased.
~
So make sure you guard it wisely
After all is said and done.
You'll be glad your name is spotless
When you give it to your son.

Scribe, that was a great post. That is one thing we have always talked about in our home - how important it is to keep our name in good standing; no only our surname but our name of Christian. The good thing, though, is that if we should be rebellious, God can redeem us as well as our name and what a testimony it can become if we give God the glory. That said, it's just more honoring to God and our parents/children to keep our name spotless to begin with. What an encourager you are. We need to play some cards......hint, hint.
ReplyDeleteGood post, Scribe. It's very important that dads give a good example to their children.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Scribe.
